Classic Generation Cloud VPS

Please note, this is only applicable for our Classic Generation of Cloud VPSs, our current generation of Cloud VPSs will not have these Drivers installed, as this uses different Virtualisation technology.

What are GPL-PV Drivers

These open source drivers have been created to allow Windows virtual servers to better integrate with the Xen Hypervisor storage and network components (this is the Hypervisor that Memset uses). When these drivers are installed on a Windows Virtual Server, running on a Xen host server, significant performance improvements in both networking and storage (HDD and SSD) can be achieved.

Additional Information

More information can be found on the GPL-PV drivers here.

  • Open the Control Panel
  • Click on Programs
  • Click on Program and Features
  • If the GPL-PV drivers are installed then you will see them listed in the list of installed programs. They will look like the following:

Can I Uninstall the GPL-PV Drivers from my Cloud VPS?

It is very important you do not attempt to uninstall these drivers as this could result in data-loss and instability of the server.

If you do wish to have GPL-PV drivers removed then please contact our Technical Support Team to discuss this requirement further.
